How do I book my first lesson?

Do I need a provisional licence?
Yes. You must hold a valid provisional driving licence before your first lesson. You can apply for one on GOV.UK.
Can I start lessons if I have never driven before?
Absolutely. Most learners start as complete beginners. Your first lessons cover the basics in a quiet, relaxed way, and you move on only when you are ready.
I am nervous about driving. Is that okay?
It is very common, and it is okay. Lessons are calm and patient, go at your pace, and you will always know what is coming next.
How many lessons will I need?
Everyone learns at a different pace. DVSA research suggests learners typically need around 45 hours of lessons plus about 22 hours of private practice, but it varies a lot. After your first few lessons Ashley can give you a realistic idea. See how many driving lessons you need.
